This site is your on-line super information resource centre. It contains general information about your Fund and your super. Your Fund in brief
There are two different types of members in the Fund. Defined Benefit members and Accumulation members. All members who commenced employment with IPE Super on or after 1 October 1999 are Accumulation members. If you commenced employment before 1 October 1999, you will generally be a Defined Benefit member, unless you have previously elected to transfer to the Accumulation section of the Fund. Members who leave the Company are transferred into the Retained Benefits Section of the Fund.
This page explains how the Fund works for Accumulation members who are employees of an employer that contributes to the Fund. Defined Benefit members should see their member booklet for information about their benefits in the Fund.
The Fund has 4 membership categories
- Employee members
- Retained Benefit members
- Account-Based Pension and Transition to Retirement members
- Spouse members
Contributions made by you and and your employer go into accounts in your name, which receive investment returns (which may be positive or negative). Fees, taxes and benefits paid are deducted from your account.
The Fund also provides financial protection in case of Death and Total and Permanent Disablement for eligible members. Accumulation members who are employees of IPL can apply for income protection insurance through the Fund.
You can also apply for your spouse to become a member of the Fund. The Fund also offers an Account-Based Pension.
